James and Steven | Summer Orchard Wedding

Updated: Jan 17, 2021

After I met Steven and James last year for their engagement photos, I was so excited they choose me to be their wedding photographer. They are two of the biggest goof balls and I instantly felt so comfortable around them- I think because I don't like to take myself too seriously to. Weddings are supposed to fun right!?!?!?!

After meeting at a 4th of July BBQ years ago, they both knew they had found someone special. They planned to have their wedding at a friends local almond orchard during April, as they were hoping to catch the blossoms in bloom. But, as fate would have it, Covid hit hard and shut all wedding plans down. They took a chance by rescheduling for June. In this part of California, June can be hot- really hot, so it was definitely taking a chance. But, they lucked out with the most perfect weather- sunny and 75 degrees with a few clouds floating by.

The venue is absolutely incredible! And, even though the trees weren't blooming, they were still lush and full of young almonds. The guys got ready in the beautiful home on the property and held the ceremony in the backyard overlooking the orchard trees. They had four beautiful friends as grooms-maids as well as their friends son as ring bearer. An outdoor/indoor reception was held on the other side of the orchard where an old barn sits, with an amazing assortment of antiques inside and a bar or two.

I didn't stay for the entire reception, but got a chance to enjoy a meal prepare by their caterers (really, really good food and amazing happy hour spread), and heard that they danced the night away in the old barn. Congratulations Steven and James!
